So Far, So Good
Pros
Good quality video, good accessories, and a great price.
Cons
Very sensitive to temperature change, questionable life span.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
It is cheap, and it has lasted for us, at least. I would recommend to buy one, but treat it nice and be aware of its warranty.
I've heard good things, I've heard bad things. We decided to take a chance on this particular model last April because it was very well priced, and we wanted our daughter to be able to watch movies during long road trips. I also wanted something I could take with me to my garage or studio, so I could watch movies while I worked--I know that kills productivity, but hey, I like having a movie playing in the background every now and then, plus the DVD player easily reads music CD's.
We couldn't find many portable players with 7-inch screens for under $100, and we were admittedly concerned about the number of bad reviews for this particular model. We went ahead and ordered it, it worked right out of the package just fine, but when I left it in the car for about three hours (on a fairly cool April day), it would not read anything. I let it sit in the house for about an hour, after that it worked again.
Despite some frustrations with how touchy it is, I appreciate the accessories like the television cord and the headrest holster for your vehicle.
I'm still nervous hearing about how it's completely died for some people, but it's obviously been much longer than 90 days, and I just used it yesterday, so at least mine still works.
