Do All Your Small Chores and Remember Everything
Pros
Still pictures, Video with sound, voice recorder, transfer all data from older models.
Cons
Very Short Battery life in WiFi mode, ~15 minutes from full charge.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Good purchase. Does a lot. Others have different needs, also look at other choices.
History
Obtained the Zire 72s in April 2005. The 's' in this case was Special edition that included the WiFi SD card. This replaces previous Palm devices a Palm III and a Palm M130, also have a Zire 22 in the house.
Usage
As a video recorder it was useful to show a tour of a show vehicle, property review, damage to property/car and include a running commentary while recording. Then you can pull the SD card out and email the file to a collegue.
As an MP3 player it could run most of the day, limited only by the SD card capacity.
As an Alarm clock, Appointment reminder, or Task Reminder this one will wake itself and alert you. It will repeat for about 1/2 hour whether you snooze or not.
It will charge slowly connected to the PC on USB - it will take overnight. On charger you can usually recharge in minutes.
I have placed games galore on an SD card, as they take little space compared to music or videos.
You should be able to use it to dial a Bluetooth telephone, but I just don't have the telephone to connect and use with.
Finally
Sit in a doctor's waiting area and enjoy games or work on document manipulation instead of those old magazines. Just don't try to use WiFi as it will kill your battery quickly.
