solid and slightly flawed sirius radio

Pros Small, backlit, FM transmitter, can be portable
Cons Hard to tune, buttons flat
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Recommend
I have no idea what the other two reviews are all about. Perhaps they ran into a bad streak of luck? I've had my little stream jockey for over 3 months and no problems.
This unit is about the size of a small walkie-talkie and sports a number of nice features including seek and memory functions, time, lock, alarm and a nifty little remote control. It even has a built-in FM transmitter so you can broadcast your channel to a frequency of your choice. This is not to say other satellite radios don't have the same features but the stream jockey is a smaller scaled-down unit.

I bought this with a home kit and the portable battery pod. Just as a side note, I believe this is the only Sirius portable available right now that is capable of using a battery pack and receiving a live feed. There is an S50 too but that doesn't have a portable battery associated with it.
The battery pod is quite bulky but it serves its purpose.

As I was saying, the one major downside to the stream jockey are its buttons. They lay flush against the face of the unit which makes it a tactile nightmare for most people, except those good with Braille. They also require a good effort to push. Another nightmare is the direct tuning. Unlike most other radios this one lacks a numeric keypad. In order to tune directly to a station you need to pull up a keypad display and move left or right to enter the numbers. Luckily Xact provides a handy remote to bypass all that. You can hit display and scroll through much more quickly. Memory presets are only limited to 18 stations. It also makes a beeping sound that you cannot disable and like most radios, it runs hot or at least warm. You should defintely operate this in a cool environment.
All in all its a pretty good product.
