Western Digital WDXUB800BBNN 80 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

I bought this at Target to port about 10g of data from work to home. It was a little bulky to carry back and forth, but worked ok, but having to carry the adapter back and forth and plug it in each time was a hassle. After about a month of use, it fell about 2 feet from the top of the computer case to the tile floor and never worked again. It fell because the power cord from the adapter was tugged on. I can't say whether an external drive should be able to survive a fall like that or not, but I wasn't impressed that it hadn't. I had to pretty much destroy the case to get it open, it is not designed to ever be serviced. Inside was a dead WD regular desktop hard drive and a working USB to HD interface. I replaced it with a much smaller external drive that uses the smaller laptop size HD. This runs off the USB port power, and doesn't need the power adapter. This is a much better solution.
