Good No-Frills Phone & Answerer
Pros
Simple and appears to be sturdy. Good sound. Fairly compact in the wall-mount configuration.
Cons
Very, very basic operation. Not true 5.8GHz.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Good basic phone for the non-techie. Fewer features than others in this price range.
WHAT I GOT IN THE BOX
Ans machine (base) + 3 handsets
HANDSETS
Nice "quality" feel, well-weighted, very good sound quality, compared to phones I've seen lately. (But, still not up to the sound quality of phones from 20 years ago.)
MOUNTING
I bought this phone only because the wall-mount configuration was fairly tight to the wall (still, sticks out 3.4"). Nearly all competitors just give you a shelf-like 90-degree bracket that simply mounts their desk phone to a wall; it sticks WAY out from the wall, and persons under 5'2" tall can't see display & buttons.
FUNCTIONALITY
Minimal (which can be a plus if you're not a techie). No speakerphone (in handset or base). Can't dial out from the base. No handset-to-handset intercom. In fact, the handsets CANNOT TALK TO EACH OTHER AT ALL, even when you're on a call. You can handoff a call from one handset to another, but only one of these handsets can talk to the base at a time (you CAN join in from another phone in the house). When programming speed-dial numbers (only 9 slots), you have to program each handset individually (tedious). Finally, you'll notice that the literature says 5.8GHz, but the fine print points out that this applies to the handset-to-base transmission. Going from base-to-handset, its 900MHz!
LONGEVITY
New; can't comment on longevity.
