The Bottom Line:
Its a winner with its neat features and clear reception.
I bought my phone back in January, and I am very happy with it. My cordless phones that I had before always had reception problems, and could not keep a charge to save a life. AT+T has solved these problems with this model, and they have been a leading telecommunications firm for a long time. This product continues their fine reputation, and I think its a good phone for most people.
I will start out with a complaint about this phone, because its the only thing wrong with this phone. The diplay is very hard to read, even with its color display. This problem is exacerbated in a sunny environment, as the display strength is very weak. People who have vision problems will have a tough time with it even more than someone with excellent eyesight.
Barring this issue, the phone is a wonderful buy that provides the most important quality- clear reception without annoying interference. This is the first cordless phone that has been flawless in that respect, and the range is teriffic. You can go over 70 feet from the house and still have reception. This is an outstanding concept, especially if you like to be on the phone while in the garden! With its 5.8 ghz technology, the signal is clear and almost impossible to be listened in on by others with scanners.
This phone is expandable, which means you can use one jack and have other cordless phones throughout the house. I have three phones in my house, and this saves one major headache.(My house is old with limited jacks and any other kind of technological access.) All the other phones work well. This is a great feature, and part of the reason for the high price.(Well worth it though!) The answering machine on this unit is digital, and records up to 25 minutes of messages. The greeting is clear, as are the messages that are very easy to retrieve. I like it a lot, and its very easy to retrieve messages.
Tha main thing I like about this phone is the neat features that make it fun to use. You can choose what kind of wallpaper you want displayed on your phone, which gives it a nice personal touch. You can select musical ringtones, and even have a ringtone assigned to different callers. This makes it easy to identify who's calling without getting off of the couch! If I could only assign the ringtone to my various bill collectors! The caller ID works well, and holds up to 50 numbers in its memory. There is also a battery backup, if for some reason you lose power.
This is a very good phone, and I would say its a buy. It provides great reception that is worth its higher price.($149.00)Quality vs. Quantity is what it comes down to, but spend a few extra bucks for this model. It is even comfortable in the hand, which makes phone calls with the nice collector a more pleasant experience!
