Poor outdoor range.
I've been using the Uniden TRU8888 for about six months now and though it was pricey and works fine as long as I'm inside my house, I'm ready to try something else. Surprisingly good. Solved all of my problems...almost.
I was having issues with my Panasonic 2.4 GHz interfering with my wireless network (not uncommon), so I decided it was time to upgrade. I needed a 5.8 GHz phone with a corded base (one reason is for a Plantronics headset), answering system, and cordless handset options.

Tried The Rest - Found the Best - Uniden Tru8888!
I recently purchased a GE-25880GE3 5.8GHz Corded/Cordless w/ Answering System Phone from Circuit City. Not terribly impressed
We have used this phone system for about 2 years in our home office. One annoying trait is the phone redial feature, after receiving a call from a different area code you cannot simple hit redial to return the call. Battery Life
I have had a number of Uniden cordless phones but this set has the poorest battery life of any of my previous phones. I am very disappointed in this one feature. The other features of the phone perform as explained and the speaker in the hand set is great. Read full review »
Like the phone but answering machine just wouldn't work
This will be short and sweet. I agree with the review by bmills. However although all the features were great I could never get the answering machine to accept calls. It would announce one word "hello" and then just shut off without taking an incoming message.
