Twisted Metal is back, and finally done the way it was supposed to be!
Twisted Metal. That name has been cherished by me for almost 5 years now. Ever since that faithful day when I walked into Toys R Us I have never been the same. I walked up to the Playstation game console and started playing the original Twisted Metal game. I couldn't believe how awesome the game... Read full review »

Have you ever wanted to rapidly fire projectiles at many vehicles? Have you ever had the impulse to throw a flaming garbage can at airplanes and Ferris wheels? Well, I just got done doing just that, and I've had the most fun I've had in a long time. You see, Twisted Metal: Black is a semi-sequel of... Read full review »
Why Do I Like This Game So Much? Is It Because It's Black?
Car combat games were all the rage a few years ago, around 1997/98. Some trend-setting games in the genre found their release around that time, of which included the classic Twisted Metal 2 and it's spiritual successor, Rogue Trip. Also on the shelves was a masterpiece called Vigilante 8,...

Feeling Depressed? Why Not Blow Something Up!!!

When a Mature Rating is Put There for a Reason
When video games came under assault after the Columbine shooting, I was first in line to defend them. They had warped and shaped my mind for the span of my lifetime and I turned out okay. I read a point once that I agreed with: pong didn?t lead me to play tennis, just sit on my @ss more so don?t... Read full review »
Twisted Metal, back in black
The Twisted Metal series have been through a lot over their years on the PSone. It?s had it?s high and lows and soon was forgotten as other games came along, trying to take the car combat crown. Such games like RoguTrip: Vacation 2012, and the Vigilante 8 series. And while it I still enjoy... Read full review »
I Look Inside Myself and see My Heart is Black...
As far as I'm concerned, the Resident Evil games now have some serious competition for being the most disturbing games ever made. As I shut off Twisted Metal: Black for the first time, I felt chills of cold dread pour down my back. I haven't felt so disturbed since the first time I saw The... Read full review »
Twisted Metal: Black ONLINE PS2 - Those who got the Network Adapter, prepare yourselves
I never did play any of the Twisted Metal games on the Play Station, as I was late to the Play Station Era. But I have heard from reviews and stuff that the first two were real good, and then when the third and fourth installments were handed over to 989 for development, they went down hill for... TWISTED METAL BLACK - Hope you have a SWEET TOOTH
Having disliked the past Twisted Metal games I took a huge gamble with this one. The reason for me doing so was because many people had told me how great it was, so I trusted their words. Risky I know but well it proved to be productive because the game is actually really good. I got my gripes... Read full review »

Twisted Metal: Black
While the Twisted Metal line of vehicular combat games has had uneven episodes, the developers at Incog have thankfully brought the series back in black, and it has never been better. Twisted Metal: Black pushes the envelope in terms of graphics, gameplay, and content. It's a tremendous game, but parents should keep in mind that it carries a Mature rating from ESRB and its content may be unsuitable for younger players. Gamers old enough to handle it will be treated to a must-have game for the PlayStation2. Twisted Metal: Black is one of the best-looking games on the market. The character design, animations, particle effects, and lighting effects are all topnotch, yet the game still runs at a speedy frame rate--even in multiplayer modes. The game isn't all about looks though, as gameplay is very deep and contains several modes. You'll want to play single-player story mode several times just to see how the game ends for its numerous compelling characters. Each character has a story line that's simple yet captivating. More importantly, each of the characters' vehicles has meaningful differences, so players are bound to find a rig that fits their playing styles. With its slick gameplay, interesting characters, wide variety of modes, and breathtaking graphics, Twisted Metal: Black is the best vehicular combat game yet, and, so far, the best PlayStation2 game of the year. --Raymond M. Padilla Pros: Incredible graphics Deep gameplay Strong replay value Cons: Controls can be tricky at first Boss fights can be frustrating
