The Bottom Line:
The Gigabeat is a great product. Easy to use and loads of great features.
After returning my ZUNE (see review), I went on the search for a more reliable mp3 player. I looked at the Toshiba Gigabeat online and liked it's features. This has a 60 GB Hard drive, no flash memory. It has a nice big screen that has both portrait and landscape modes. It also has a power saving feature that extends battery life. I am currently getting over 6 hours of playtime on a single charge.
I really like that I can load mp3, wma, and wav files! I'm not locked into a service so I can use any I want. I have Rhapsody that I can use and they even give you a free subscription to Napster.
It also plays my favorite videos and has a section for you to store TV shows! There is also a Radio feature, but with all this cool music, I doubt I will use it.
The software installed so easily that I thought I did it wrong. It loaded and asked for me to hook up the unit. After synching for awhile, it was ready to go. I went back to load my pictures and found out they were already loaded! So were my videos! I played through them and they all looked awesome on the screen and the audio is good.
I bought the Monster FM transmitter and it works well.
The only downsides are the lack of accessories available right now and they are not available at places like Best Buy or even Radio Shack. I bought mine at a chain while in Texas called Conn's. They were very nice people.
