Simply the best HD-DVD player on the market

Excellent picture quality on HD dvd and regular DVD, best sound quality.

The Bottom Line:
Many users have problems with HD players. Even some blu-ray have compatibility/bug problems. For that, take the extended warranty. You wont regret you did!
I bought this second gen HD-DVD player on sale at Future shop because the 3rd gen players (HD A3, A30 and A35) beeing lesser quality and having more stability problems than the second gen (A2-A20 and XA2).
The XA2 player has a 12 bit, 4x oversampling, 296mhz video DAC compared to the third gen players using 12 bit and 148mhz with no oversampling. You can see here that the XA2 offers more picture quality because of it's video processor.But that's not enought. THe XA2 Also have a Hollywood Quality Video Reon Chipset that analyse every pixels and give a nicer picture than any other HD dvd on the market. The player casing is in 1/4 inch solid Brushed black aluminium to isolate interference and vibration.
The XA2 also feature HDMI 1.3 and analog audio out for Dolby true HD and DTS HD. IT has integrated decoder like the A35. You can use this player on older home cinema receivers if they have 5.1 analog inputs. The hd dvd player will decode the sound and your old receiver will only amplified it !
The XA2, like other HD dvd player will upconvert your regular dvd up to 1080P, but with a better quality because having the REON CHIP.
I love everything about this player. The look is awesome, the picture quality and the sound are amazing. It also has a ethernet port behind for update. Nice feature.
The only complaints is cd tracking. Is not perfect on reading CD. SOund quality seems very good in stereo out, and a bit compressed in optical out.
