Neither here nor there
I'm definitely regretting this purchase. I was in the market for a recording device. A DVR from the cable company would run me a monthly fee. A Tivo also has a monthly fee. A decent player/recorder with one excellent capability
I bought this DVD recorder to replace a 2004 model one that died. In the interim, a seriously unfair and ridiculous copy protection scheme went into effect on many channels. Poor reliability, poor service support
This unit operated OK for about 4 months then failed completely, both record and
playback. Operation is very slow and too complicated for most users. Also,
seeking repair via Toshiba service was a dead end. Would not recommend this unit.
