Even though this is only a preview... better than nothing to read at all. Well... after having to send my STR-DE845 receiver back for the 4th time, I requested to have it exchanged with a new one. So since they dont produce them anymore, Sony was kind enough to exchange it for a BRAND NEW Sony STR-DE897.... I'm a little excited to say the least. New technology and being upgraded to 7.1 from 5.1 is a plus. The only thing I dont like is that my old receiver used to have two sub outs, and I had two subs hooked up to it, the new one has only one. I should be able to take care of that problem fairly effortlessly... So I'm curious and looking forward to my new toy.
Update : sounds great, 7.1 is awesome and so is the matrix. Even 5.1 encoded DVDs being matrixed to 7.1 sound great I would never go back to 5.1 decoding. I Love the Neo6 decoding, only when there's a LFE channel present, otherwise
I stick with Dolby digital II.
