Sony PS-LX350H Turntable

I purchased this turntable after I was forced to sell my beloved Denon DP-DJ151 to pay unexpectedly high bills. This turntable looks like a professional quality table but does not behave like one. Almost all my audio and video components and portable devices are Sonys but I simply can't find a descent Sony turntable so I went back to the previously mentioned Denon model. First of all, this table has a Belt-Driven platter. Something which I've never been a big fan of. Second, there is no Quartz Lock so you have to keep a close eye on the strobe light and speed adjustment to make sure the speed is constant. And third, for about half the price, you can get the PS-LX250 which comes equipped with a built-in preamp. I think this table should also come with one since most of Sony's newer receivers don't have Phono inputs, but it doesn't. I've never tried to scratch or mix with this table but would imagine it wouldn't be possible. This turntable weighs in at less than half of the high end turntables because it is made almost entirely of cheap plastic. Overall, this would be a good turntable if you are a casual listener of vinyl and not a control freak like me who has to have the pitch maintained exactly.
