Epic Fail. Do not be seen in public wearing these.

Pros The sound is quality.
Cons Wearing these makes you look like an idiot.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:

Don't tell me you don't care what anyone thinks. You don't want to look like this. Not with so many other choices on the market.

Some things are such of a cataclysmic failure, that they circle their way all the way back around to win. One example would be Buddy Holly's (and later, Elvis Costello's, and after him, Drew Carey's) glasses. Dorky though they were, the glasses were practically synonymous with the people themselves.

I would HATE for someone to associate me with these ugly headphones.

This is a product you hide from public view, like your zit and hemmorhoid creams, tampons, and hairbrush that desperately needs to be cleaned but you just never seem to get around to it, so it now looks like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons, and you'd DIE if anyone you knew saw it.

You look like a complete goof wearing these. I should know: I got these.

As a grab bag gift.

From a co-worker.

Rather than throttle said co-worker, I choked out a thank-you...and brought them home. I no longer felt bad about the grab-bag gift *I* put in...a coffee/latte/hot chocolate mug set I got the year before that looked outdated when I got it.

Anyway, these headphones were too ugly to re-gift and I was too embarrassed to try and make a return at a store. My son openly laughed, mocked and pointed...until I threatened to put these headphones in HIS stocking.

You'd think that SONY, which is pretty synonymous with quality, would know better than to offer their consumers something to wear that would make them look like complete doofuses? And to call them "Consumer Headphones" is just adding insult to injury.

Now I'll make an admission.

The sound is pretty good.

I do use them when I'm doing things like putting on night cream or scraping my feet with my Ped Egg. These are ONLY used behind closed doors. They've held up well for 2 years now, but as they're not used a whole heck of a lot, I guess that's to be expected.

These headphones, while they sound good, can really make people do a double-take at you, and not in a good way. I recently returned from Myrtle Beach and saw someone at our resort wearing these identical headphones.

I couldn't help but look away and stifle a snort. While I am likely to never see that person again, I will never forget his face. You might call him courageous, but I call him an unfortunate who might very well be related to the person who begifted these on ME.

You can find equal sound and better looks for the same price. The only good, besides the sound, is that I didn't pay for these.
