Poor low end sound. Poor choice
Pros
Sports headband style. Short cord if you prefer that. In ear buds. Cool look.
Cons
Sounds tinny. Headband **DOES NOT** keep earbuds in place perfectly well during sports activities.

These looked like the perfect set of headphones for working out but I wish I had not bought them. They sound tinny. There is no low end base sound. I find that the buds can slip out of my ear. That happens mostly on the left side where the wire is attached, so I presume that the wire pulls when I work out, causing the problem. The band does not slip behind the ear unless you force the rear part of the headband down low on the neck area. The primary wire is short and there is an extension cable that I need to use. The extension once disconnected and I thought my iPod had stopped working. I do not recommend the SONY MDR-AS50. You can get better sound for less money in a form factor that works fine for sports. If the store had allowed a refund I would have returned them but I suppose for sanitary reasons they do not allow used headphones to be returned.
