Sony Grand WEGA KDS-50A2000 50 in. HDTV SXRD TV

We initially purchased a Samsung DLP HL-S5087W 1080p set since we thought the picture was the best out there when compared to other projections side by side. Once we brought it home and set it up, we became very disappointed in picture quality especially when non-HD or non 16:9 format programing was displayed. The edges of the picture was bowed or concave. Speaking to the store's TV technician this is a common fault in projection sets. Explaining bulb shape on different brands, they suggested the Sony since it uses a flat bulb for projection. We brought the Samsung back and exchanged it for the Sony.....WOW are we glad. This set is much better in quality and picture. The screen is very firm in place no movement when slightly touched and no bowing of screen. We hope this unit will provide us many years of service. Very glad that we changed from the Samsung.
