Surprisingly capable camera

Pros Very excellent digital camera for the money.
Cons No memory stick included. Useless viewfinder.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The near perfect camera for point-and-shooters.
I recently purchased this little camera as a replacement for my well-worn Sony DSC-U20. I had gotten used to the very small size of the U20, and wasn't sure if I'd like the larger (but still tiny) DSC-W30. I picked this model because of it's attractive price, 2" screen size, and the fact that other than the screen size, it is identical in features and appearance to the more expensive W50 model. I love the addition of internal memory to these models, although at the higher resolutions, this usually only amounts to 10-20 pictures. If you have used an earlier generation sony digital camera, you will be amazed at how much faster this model powers up and can take photos. It's really impressive to a point-and-shooter like myself. I only take pictures for work (which are for documentation purposes only) and for home life (dogs, friends, etc.) so this camera has all I need and more. For newbies such as myself, it even has optional text that explains on-screen what each setting does. The battery lasts an extra, extra long time (something like 400 pics) and although no memory stick is included, the pro duos are coming down in price and you can get a 1 GB stick for around $40-$60 these days. The battery is proprietary, but seems to be high quality. The 3X optical zoom and ability to record video WITH sound is a nice touch as well. It also has burst modes, I guess for shooting action shots. The screen is clearly visable even in daylight (I wish my RAZR screen was like this). Overall, a great, great value for the money for the point and shoot types such as myself. More advanced camera users can probably find 100 things wrong with it, but for me it's perfect.
