Good for the price

Pros cheap, nice screen, small
Cons No Apple Macintosh support. Memory stick is not as interchangable as you wish
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Only buy the PDA you need. This gives more bang for the busk than any other, though you have to work on it.
I believe a PDA should be small and do what you need, not what you think you need. So many have extra things like crappy MP3 player or camera, when you are really better off just getting a second device (I have an iPod, since I want 1000 CDs, not 10 or so available). The SK22 has the up to date palm functions (OS4.1, which is still (May 2003) the standard, a beautiful hi res screen, and a slot for the memory stick.
The MS is actually my biggest disapointment and my biggest surprise beneit. First, I was disapointed when I took my 128 MB MS from my sony digicamcorder and popped it in the SJ22: the images displayed were unbelievably crappy. It turns out you need to download the photos on a desktop then use the included image conversion software then reload it on to the PDA by hot synch THEN transfer from the PDA to the MS. In the end, though the photos are very nice, and the PDA display softwre, for browsing or for slide-show, are nice and the screen is beautiful.
The reall bonus, though, is using a big MS. Full backups of all PDA data to the MS are easy. This matters, cause when the battery runs dry, you need to do a hard reset and all memorg is gone. I also have a big (8MB) dictionay there and about 20 MB of images. Love it.
The battery is fine. I really use my PDA and need to recaharge only every 3 or 4 days.
The video sofwre, you must purchase in order to turn movies to the Kinoma format, but again, it is pretty nice.
I cant believe that the quick movies my sony camcorder shoots to my MS are not compatible with the SJ22, however.
