Overheated, crashed, lost data

Just be sure never to leave this hard drive on for more than 6 hours, or else it will overheat and crash, like mine did. After looking at the design, I am convinced this is a design flaw, as I see absolutely no way for the heat to dissipate, unless you constantly blow a fan at it.
Simpletech offers a 3-year warranty for this product and is willing to replace my drive. My new drive has the same overheating problem.
Please note also that Simpletech DOES NOT cover data loss. Even though I was able to retrieve lost files through some demo file recovery software, Simpletech claimed that all the files were corrupt. I suspect they didn't even want to bother. I'm glad I tried recovering my files before sending my drive back to SimpleTech, because they are unhelpful besides trying to send you a new drive.
