Sharp BD-HP21U Blu-Ray Player

I rec. one of these as a gift in Dec of 2009 from my wife.  When it works, it produces a great picture on our HD TV.  The problem is that some popular Blu-ray discs would not play on this player and I had to download and install new firmware from Sharp to get it to work even though the device was new.  The process of installing new firmware is not simple, but did get the new 007 movie to play (for example).  Recently, Nov of 2009, we purchased the new Star Treck movie and 2 chapters in this movie will not play. So, I am once again trying to determine if Sharp has new firmware to fix this problem.  This is the only Blu-ray player we have ever had.  I certainly hope they are not all as troublesome as this one.  I requested that Sharp refund the purchase price to my wife, they have yet to respond.
