Got this machine as part of a promo with my Sammy 4661F LCD 1080p. Paid $1499 for both the TV & player. Deal of the century. If I had to pay for this machine – prob would not buy Samsung. Would have gone for Sony. Seems like they have less problems playing new & old disks.

Firmware already out of date
The Samsung BD-P1400 is a good quality Blu-Ray DVD player, and replaced the earlier P1000 in my home system. Won't play certain discs, support and service terrible
I purchased a BDP1400 last summer, and found out pretty quickly that it wouldn't play certain discs (there were some wasted trips back and forth to Blockbuster, and some 6-year-old tears).
