The Bottom Line:
A pretty good home theater, especially if you own a Samsung TV.
The Samsung HT-TZ515T Theater System with Wireless Speakers has been a great addition to my Samsung TV.
Originally, my wife, not me, wanted a sound system and, on advice of friends, I said: "Why bother?" The hassle of yet-another-component and the ability to blow away my neighbors at maximum volume were not compelling. TV speakers worked.
Boy was I wrong. With my new home theater, I hardly care about the picture on the TV. On DVDs, I love to listen to the surround sound effects where a plane goes roaring past. On my PlayStation 3, I love to hear drops of water in caves behind me or deafening roar when I unleash a machine gun on an opponent.
Now, admittedly, I'm not a sound expert. I don't have golden ears. But the Samsung HT-TZ515T Theater System sounds great to me. But, almost any sound system will sound fantastic compared with TV speakers.
The Samsung HT-TZ515T Theater System is easy to set up. It takes about an hour. There are color coded wires so it is very easy to wire the thing correct. I still hate speaker wire and I'd much rather have plugs. But the Samsung HT-TZ515T Theater System makes it as easy as can be expected.
Integration via AnyNet with Samsung TVs is good but not great. It could have been great but Samsung choked. It'd be great if it all worked automatically but, instead, you have to press a few buttons (i.e. the "AnyNet" button) to tell the TV to use the home theater system. Apparently, Samsung thought that most people would like to watch TV in dead silence and, for the minority who want to hear sound, they provided the "AnyNet" button which you have to press nearly even time that you turn on the TV.
