If Home Theaters? Could Dream, This Would Be What They Would Dream About

Pros High contrast levels - Does not have a large footprint
Cons Price is still considered high
Recommended it? Yes

Right out of the box this set is ready to amaze. When I first pulled this unit out of the box, I immediately realized just how well this unit was designed. There is hardly a body to this machine, as well as the fact that it barely weighs enough to be considered a paperweight. Samsung has finally... Read full review »

Pros Really nice picture, cheaper than plasma, lightweight and easy to move around.
Cons Audio probs with DVD's but that may not be the tv's fault.
Recommended it? Yes

When we were looking for a new tv, a friend of ours told us about Samsung and DLP. It was cheaper than Plasma and almost as good picture wise. Well, our friend didn't lie. It comes almost ready to use right out of the box and it weighs alot less than our old regular 25 inch tv! This is a plus,... Read full review »

Pros Image quality, weight, price
Cons Horrid audio/video sync problem, dead pixel, sluggish remote.

Background

These Samsung TVs use a technology from Texas Instruments called "Digital Light Processor" or DLP. A DLP is a chip with tiny movable mirrors - one mirror per pixel - that move to turn each pixel on or off and create the image. In this model, a single 100W light source shines on... Pros Great picture, sound, color & blacks. Only 78 pounds & 16" deep.
Cons Remote not lighted and remote difficult to use/understand.
Recommended it? Yes

I researched till I was blue in the face all of the DLP, LCD, regular projection, plasma and concluded that, for the money, this was the way to go. I still believe it is the best. I have mine in the bedroom sitting on a built-in unit which is at eye level in the center of the screen when standing... Read full review »

Pros Great HDTV pictures. Good sound with BBE turned ON.
Cons Some rainbow effect, muddy dark scenes
Recommended it? Yes

I'm an engineer and tend to see every flaw in a TV. With that said, I really enjoy this TV with HD shows. The contrast, color, brightness and sharpness are great. There are some flaws that may bother you but should not in most cases. First let me tell you how to set up the controls.
Set the... Read full review »

Pros Stunning picture, lots of inputs, light weight
Cons Remote is less than ideal
Recommended it? Yes

After much viewing of plasma, LCD, large projection TVs, etc we settled on the Samsung DLP because of it's stunning picture. Read the reviews for the HLN4365W for details (I agree with all that is said).

We were going to go with a Panasonc plasma, but got worried about the altitude... Read full review »

Pros Great image quality from DVDs in wide-screen mode.
Cons Very Poor Reliability! Not impressive service/support.
Recommended it? No

I've had this unit for 6 months, and already have 2 problems (which have yet to be resolved).
So, I believe the product was released before its time.
My unit developed a stripe on one edge of the picture area, when playing 3:4 aspect images, broadcast or video. It does not appear in... Read full review »

Finally DLP that is affordable to the common man!
Most DLP's are projectors for home theaters. I LOVE THIS TV! It is definitely worth the extra money. The picture quality is better than what I have seen in LCD or plasma. In a room with windows (like most living rooms) it is great with the... Read full review »

Pros Weight, Size, Quality, Flexibility
Cons Takes some training ...

Well, I purchased the TV a month ago. At first glance, the picture was disappointing in high-color situations. After extensive reading and studying of the avsforum.com, I finally figured out the tweak required - just like your old TV sets - turn the COLOR WAY DOWN! Since then, I've had HDTV put in...
