The DVD format's 8-Bit video information is requantized into 10 bits for more accurate processing - resulting in fewer digital artifacts. This Pioneer-developed video LSI combines, on a single chip, the MPEG2 decoder, 10-bit video processor, 10-bit DAC, NTSC encoder and audio decoder.
