Do you really need Lasersdisc?

The Bottom Line:
If you want laserdisc and DVD and CD all in one unit, this is the unit for you.
I am a Star Wars nut and I really do not like VHS tapes, so the only thing I could watch Star Wars in digital format is through Lasersdisc.
The laserdisc format actually works better thant he DVD on this unit. Somehow, it is alittle noisy when playing DVD and the picture sometime pixelate. It sometimes would not play certain DVDs, I still have no idea why.
Since I have over 30 laserdiscs, I would still like to watch them whenever I can, that's why I bought this unit. If you have a very small collection of laserdiscs and you'll probably not watch it that often, I would just get a regular DVD unit.
It has both optical and coaxial output, and a separate output for dolby digital sound for the laserdisc. So if you want dolby digital sound for both DVD and laserdisc, you have to buy 2 separate digital/coaxial cables...and that could get expensive.
Again, I would only recommend this unit if you have a large laserdisc collection and will watch laserdisc more than once a month.
