Philips offers Decent DVD Player for Under $100
A few years ago, in order to make life easier in the car on family trips, we bought an inexpensive Mintec portable DVD player from Costco. It lasted up until 2 months ago…much longer than the lifespan I expected based on consumer reviews.

Piece of junk for the most part
I bought this for the car for my daughter to watch movies...I spend more time cursing at the darn thing than it actually working! It constantly stops for no reason & skips a lot too. The pictures online I've found never do this player justice. Not recommended.
Purchased the PET724 for a spring break road trip to Tucson for MLB spring training week. Had problems right out of the box with the picture freezing up, as well as the unit getting extremely hot. Tried it at destination, and found it wouldn't play some discs.
