Looks good BUT badly designed
Pros
Looks impressive.
Cons
Connections badly designed, sound quality C-, component video does not work.
Recommended it?
No
Just bought and installed a HTS8100/37 along with a Philips 47" LCD.
Not thrilled.
User guide EXPLICITLY states to use Component Video for best quality if connecting to a Progressive Scan TV. Tells you to turn Progressive Scan on/off on the TV. Can't do this on a Philips TV. Made two calls to Technical Support.
Using component video caused green lines on screen. Tried with HDHI; no green lines!
Component video outputs squeezed IN behind subwoofer plug. Hard to get into PLUS now the cable cover will not close. Too many cables on ONE SIDE.
I bet NOBODY actually tried this with component video. Otherwise they would have seen this problem.
This is a BLACK MARK for Philips.
I am JUST glad that I didn't pay full-price and got a good deal.
Will NOT recommend this product.
