Pantech Matrix Cell Phone: How to Get Jealous Friends....

Pros A small, reliable, and amusing phone.
Cons Uses battery quickly.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:

People will envy you for this phone and it is really reliable. It lasts a long time and you will love its sleek look.

My Story
When my old cell phone was cracked and discolored from a mishap with contact fluid in my purse, I figured that I needed a new one. Plus, Christmas was coming up and it was the perfect opportunity to ask for a pretty big gift. So obviously, my mom got me the Pantech Matrix. The outside is black while the keys are lime green. I thought that the phone was pretty cool until I opened up the case and found out that the phone slides up to reveal a regular number pad and it slides out to reveal a QWERTY layout keyboard. I was pretty psyched. I set everything up and when I started to show it to my friends, they were wicked jealous! Even my friends with iPhones wanted my phone. Plus, the phone is fun because you get very amuzed sliding it up and out over and over again.
The Low-Down
This phone is 4.02” (H)  by 1.97” (W) and it is 4.66 oz. The battery type is standard Lithium Ion and it has 3 hours talk time. It is a 3G phone and it specifically available to AT&T customers. The phone does not take very long to charge. I would say that it takes an hour or less. However, it uses up the battery very quickly.
But besides that, this phone has everything. It has a GPS, Mobile Banking, an alarm clock, a calender, a calculator, notepad, voice memo, stop watch, units converter, address book for up to 1,000 contacts, speed dial, flight mode, business card info, a camera, an Mp3 player, speakerphone, bluetooth stero headset support, video recording, video share to share a video during a call, instant messaging, internet, etc. The camera and video camera are great. Pictures come out nicely.
But another problem is with the Mp3. You need to hook the phone up to your computer to add music but the USB cord is not included when you buy the phone.  From here, you would have to ask the AT&T people for the cord.
Online, the phone is $229.99 without the two year commitment. With the two year commitment it is $79.99. The phone comes in red, navy blue, green, or black with different key colors. The phone is pretty pricey but it is strong and it lasts.
Personally…
I love this phone. It is ideal for people who love to text because of the accessibility of both keyboards. The phone is hard at first because you have to get used to both keyboards. It does not take long to get used to it because the screen is so reliable. Say you are trying to add to your contacts; you slide the screen up to get to the number pad, put in the number, press save, press save to new contacts, then a new menu comes up. Now you put in the personal info for the contact and you flip the screen down and then out to reveal the QWERTY keyboard. The menu switches to the horizontal view and you type in the information. It is really simple.
The only other problem is the fact that you constantly need to spend money if you want the apps on the phone. If you want to use the GPS then you can use the 60 day trial. After that, if you want to use it, it is added on to your bill. You can use the camera, Mp3,  calculator, video camera, and anything like that for free but things like games, internet access, and other applications cost more money.
I definitely recommend this cell phone for teenagers who like to text. AT&T offers an inexpensive unlimited texting plan for families and if you are going with that, this is a good phone to get. Even if you don’t spend your money on things like the GPS or internet access, this is a good and reliable phone to have. I have had it for about 9 months now and I have seen no problems. The phone has also stayed nice and clean and I haven’t had any problems with finger prints on the screen. The numbers and letters on the keys also have not faded and I have had no technical problems.
This is definitely a phone to brag about and you can make it an experiment in seeing just how many people come up and ask you if they can flip the phone themselves. It is very amusing and I find it so.  The most common phrase you will hear after you get it is,” Awwwwww! You’re so lucky!”
