The infamous lamp said to lasts UP TO 5000 hrs.
Yes, it burnt on me 3 years after purchasing the panasonic PT45LC12 rear projection TV. At that time I was very disappointed and bitterly swallowed the $300 loss. A Plasma TV is cheaper
On the manual it said that the lamp will last you 5000 hours. We watch an average of 2 and half hours of TV per day. I have this TV for about 2 an half year and I'm going into my third replacement lamp.

HOW LONG SHOULD IT LAST
I have had my TV (PANASONIC PT-40LC12) for less than 2 years

Lamp doesn't last
I have the PT40LC12 and I am now on my 3rd lamp. I would guess that I have gotten no more than 1000 hours out of any of them. These are expensive lamps so it seriously raises the cost of ownership for this HDTV. And there's no warning that it's going to go out. So when it goes out, if you don't... Read full review »

This Lamp suppose to last about 5000 hrs, but I have to replace this lamp just about 700-800 hrs.
