I don't think that shiny is an advantage for kitchen appliances!

Beware the power settings - big time fire hazard
Cooking on variable power is not intuitive and caused a meltdown for me.
I had a nice Tupperware rice cooker that asked you to cook full power for 5 minutes, then finish at 15 minutes on medium. I cooked on high for the first 5 minutes by pushing the Minute button 5 times and then Start...
