The Bottom Line:
Although this TV is older, if you can find one on ebay or in the paper I HIGHLY recommend.
I have owned this TV since August 2004. We bought this TV at Best Buy after comparing Samsung and Sony models in this price range. We have been extremely happy with the quality of picture and the durability of the unit. The LCD engine was great compared to the rainbow plagued DLPs back then. Last month the lamp warning message FINALLY showed up. I bought an extended warranty through Best Buy which covers replacements lamps. We watch a LOT of TV...I would guess this unit operates at least 10 hours per day EVERY day. That should equate to at least 10,000 hours of usage on this bulb. We use many sources on this TV. Primarily we use the HD-DVR provided by Cox Cable. The picture quality and brightness are great, and there is minimal artifacts on heavy motion video. We also have a Samsung progressive scan DVD player, which although its not an HD source, the picture looks pretty good in Widescreen mode. VHS looks as good as one can expect, and our DV camcorder looks great! The viewing angle on this TV is great. The brightness works well even in a very bright room with 3 windows on 2 sides. I would like more HDMI ports, but considering this TV is 3 generations old now I cannot complain.
