A Fine Phone for Finicky Folks

bycartan Sep 9, 2006

Pros Full featured 5.8 GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum phone.
Cons Phone volume erratic after a few months of use, due to premature battery failure.
Recommended it? Yes

Update 1/20/07 Battery failure after about six months. OEM replacement costs around $18. Found an AT&T branded battery for $10. I find it unacceptable that an OEM replacement battery costs almost half the cost of the phone. Because of the premature battery failure and high cost of replacement, I... Read full review »

Pros The phone has some good features.
Cons Poor customer service. Leave you on hold 15 minutes/no apology.

In 2006 I purchased a Panasonic KX-TG5621S cordless phone that has many good features. We replaced the original battery and both batteries had a long life.
I purchased another battery in April 2009 from Panasonic Service and Technology Company. It was on backorder and cost me $19.95 plus $6.95... Read full review »

Panasonic's budget 5.8GHz Cordless

bywmcot Apr 24, 2007
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Good quality, basic cordless with enough features. Low price.
Cons I have had no complaints with my phone.
Recommended it? Yes

The KX-TG5621S is a good basic phone if you don't need a lot of bells and whistles. You will get caller ID, Call waiting ID, 5 redial memories, and a phonebook, but that's about it. The handset speaker phone function is fine, but I've seen several of these that have been used in shops and other... Read full review »

Pros Neat design. Many useful features. Range is satisfactory
Cons Voice volume is not satisfactory. Background hum
Recommended it? No

A previous Panasonic cordless phone having failed I tried this model. I may be out of luck but voice volume, even when set at high, is poor. At times have to strain to hear.
Has many desirable features and reputable name as manufacturer. Range is good. Read full review »

The worst phone I have ever had

Pros Looks
Cons Everything else
Recommended it? No

I bought this phone in December 2006 in BestBuy. It was working OK for a while, around 2 months (although income volume wasn't that great), and then I started getting some permanent humming sound, that made my phone calls almost impossible. I went to BestBuy, and they were kind enough to give me... Read full review »

Interference Out the Wazoo!

Pros Nice size
Cons Bad interference
Recommended it? No

I have two Panasonic cordless phones. This was to replace the oldest one on which it had become difficult to hear the caller. The interference on this phone was phenomenal. I have experienced absolutely none on the 3 Panasonics I have owned over the past 20 years except for this one. The newest... Read full review »

Pros Easy to operate.
Cons Volume is too low to clearly hear normal conversation.Volume enhancer does not help.
Recommended it? No

I carefully researched cordless phones and decided that the Panasonic KX-TG 5621 was the best one to  buy.  It worked quite well for about a year, then the volume became so low that I could not use it.  I was told to replace the battery at a cost of about $20 and that might fix the... Nice Cordless Phone

Pros Good cordless phone with lots of features
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

We are really happy with this phone - good range, really good sound, good price, huge number of features, bordering on silly.

Our drop-dead requirements were 5.8Ghz, decent range, speakerphone and caller ID on the handset.

Nice to have features include: pickup-answer - When its... Read full review »
