bygadgetmaestro Mar 21, 2003

Pros Expandable to 8 handsets, excellent phone company voice mail compatibility, GREAT...
Cons Questionable talk-time (depending on type of usage), no display on base, long battery...
Recommended it? Yes

Hallelujah! Several weeks ago, I finally broke down and replaced our problematic cordless phones with this nicely-equipped "whole house" system from Panasonic. Even if you're just starting to investigate expandable phone systems, you've probably discovered that these products have tremendous... Read full review »

I'll NEVER buy another Panasonic phone! DO NOT buy this phone!!!

bykds799 Nov 30, 2004

Pros Expandable via extra handsets, decent range, good sound quality the first few months.
Cons short battery life AND phone life, 15 hour recharge, unreliable in general
Recommended it? No

We bought this because we could add multiple handsets. We bought the main base unit, plus 2 additional handsets. One of which had a built in LED clock display and was a triangular shape so you could sit it on a desk & have a phone that's also a clock. This phone/clock didn't work from day one. The... Pros Sounds clear outside
Cons Caller Id on handset takes forever to show up. Has an annoying echo at times.
Recommended it? No

I was so excited about purchasing my new Panasonic 2.4 GHz telephone with Caller ID. I hurried over to Circuit City to purchase the telephone cause I read more good reviews than bad. The price was around $180 (with tax) I was not hesitant to buy it at all cause Panasonic is a great brand. I never... Read full review »

Why all the fuss - A good product

bynikujohn Aug 2, 2008

Pros Wide range, lot of additional handsets possible
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about the poor quality of this phone system. Apparently the system we've had has been great compared to everyone else's system.

The Panasonic KX-TGA270S is a multi-handset phone system. It includes a base unit which has a built in answering machine and... Read full review »

Good concept; bad product

Pros Flexible number of handsets.
Cons Poor sound volume, terrible battery performance
Recommended it? No

I've lived with this phone for nine months now and I'm ready to throw it out. I originally bought the phone because I could easily add handsets and it supported caller ID.

But there are two problems with the phone that make it almost unusable. First, the people I'm talking to consistently... Read full review »

I'm taking mine back

Pros Speaker phone on handset, editable caller ID
Cons Hard for other end to hear; tiny print on caller ID panel
Recommended it? No

Not happy with this one. Its my first phone with a speaker-phone on the handet which is really handy. But the handset itself doesn't ring (only the base station) - I prefer to be able to control whether or not the base station or the phone does the ringing. Also, people sometimes say they can't... Total waste of money...

bymacrobus Jul 19, 2005

Pros Worked OK for 3-4 months, before the designed-in bugs took hold...
Cons Just like Mission Impossible, this phone "will self destruct in 3 months..."
Recommended it? No

The KX-TG2700S, and its companion, the KX-TG273 extension handset with alarm clock, have proven to be unreliable, flaky products. Of course, they worked OK for the first few months, and then slowly lost battery life and started acting strangely. The alarm clock radio volume was either blasting loud... Read full review »

Pros Amazing features
Cons Absolutely unreliable
Recommended it? No

Bought this phone after shopping around extensively.
I found it just amazing. The features are so good, the display clear, the sound excellent.
Unfortunately, the battery last very little and while it shows you full battery, suddenly, it drops dead. I bought another original battery... Read full review »

Great Combo with plenty of flexibility and expandability...

byoverboost May 26, 2004

Pros Expandable to 8, great range and sound quality. Intuitive menu system.
Cons VERY short Handset battery life. Recharge time is way too long. Base has no CallerID.
Recommended it? Yes

Well, this combo has much to offer. Easily expandable with intuitive navigation menu on the handset. Battery life (way too short) and base features (no display for Caller ID) could definitely be improved.
