PDA: Public Display of Annoyances ** MORE UPDATES **
In the early days, I bought my first Personal Digital Assistant called the Psion series 3. After a while, I upgraded to the Psion series 5, then on to the Palm Pilot - I was in geek heaven. A few years later, I upgraded to the Palm 3x and eventually on to the Palm 515. This week, I purchased a... Read full review »
PalmOne Treo 650 - The Smarter Treo?
I'm planning on using Sprint PCS for a long while since I've been extremely satisfied with the service. Since life is getting more complex, I felt like I needed a new phone to fit the lifestyle. I have used the Handspring/PalmOne Treo 600 before but it still left things that I desired. I also used... Read full review »
Treo is a great all-in-one smartphone device
After panting and wishing to get my hands on the Treo 650, I finally got hold of one this past March. My family went on a vacation during Spring Break to Tokyo and Hong Kong. I finally bought an unlocked GSM Treo 650 (they don't subsidy lock the phones in Hong Kong). At the time, there was a new... Read full review »
Palm Treo 650: (Possibly) The Ultimate Cellphone; A Treo Look Four Years Later
Almost four years ago I reviewed a cellphone called the Handspring Treo 300, and I called it "The Ultimate (2002) Cellphone". This device was widely accepted by many as the standard against which to judge phones that integrated cellular telephones and PDAs (Personal Data Assistants). That Treo 300... Read full review »
The Palm Treo 650- A Smartphone Worth Checking Out
Recently I have been testing many of the new 'all in one' wireless products. Mostly these have included devices that are a combination of wireless phone and PDA. For the most part, I have found these devices to be inefficient and uncomfortable. Many of the devices I found were not very user... Read full review »
Treo 650: Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
The Treo 650 is my third Treo. I previously have owned a Treo 300 and a Treo 600. I have also owned various PDAs, including the Tungsten C, Tungsten T and iPAQ 5455. For my needs and desires, the T650 is easily the best phone on the market.
Anyone reading this review presumably knows, at...

****THIS REVIEW HAS AN UPDATE AT THE END, DATED 19 JULY 2005****
After months of research, I took the plunge and bought my first 'smart phone', the Treo 650. Despite the fact that my company currently supports only Blackberries, the features summarized below made this the logical...

If only my husband were as versatile as this baby!
UPDATED seven hours later: the original review was written in an insomniac haze at 5:00 a.m. (read: I was very tired and very bored).
Two full weeks with the 650 and I'm one hell-of-a happy woman. I've recently become convinced that I'm a technology addict, and the 650 is my latest fix...

Treo 650, A whole new way to Communicate
The Amazing Treo 650
.........everything you need in the palm of your hands

A mixed box o' bolts
I'm relatively new to the Palm phenomenon... sorta. I was a Newton 110/120 owner, briefly used one of the original Palm handhelds, and used a Blackberry 7230 until I got the Treo. I've always felt keyboards were the right way to do text entry, so I've avoided most Palm PDAs.

Treo 650 CDMA PDA with Earthlink Wireless
The PalmOne Treo 650 boasts all the legendary features of the venerable Treo 600, plus a whole lot more. Now with Bluetooth, a higher resolution screen, a removable battery, and an improved keyboard, the Treo 650 is once again on the cutting edge of Smartphone technology. It offers all the functionality of a high-end Palm OS-powered PDA, a cell phone and a VGA camera. Simply put, it's the ultimate mobile office companion. Under the hood, the Treo 650 features Palm OS 5.4, 32MB of RAM (23MB available for end user storage), and an Intel PXA270 312 MHz processor. The design retains the same popular form factor as the Treo 600 with a few subtle, yet significant, changes. The unit's screen has been dramatically enhanced to support 320 x 320 resolution and the full QWERTY keypad has been redesigned for greater ease of use. The top of the unit features an expansion card slot for SD and MMC-based memory and expansion cards. There's also an infrared port here for line of sight data transfers, as well as a handy switch for turning off the phone's ringer. A five-way navigator controls most of the phone's menus and operating system functions, while quick application buttons on either side of the navigator get you to your favorite applications in a snap. The left side of the unit features a volume up/down toggle plus a handy user- customizable button that can be assigned to any phone or PDA function. The rear of the Treo 650 houses a loudspeaker, as well as the VGA (640x480) camera unit. A touchscreen stylus can be tucked away on the right side of the phone. Meanwhile, a combined charging, data, and accessory attachment port is housed on the bottom of the unit, as is a standard 2.5 mm stereo headset jack.
