I received the Maxtor OneTouch II hard drive for Christmas of 2005. At that time, I wanted an external hard drive, because my existing hard drive was getting a bit cramped. Since this was what Costco had in stock at the time, that's what I got.

I read several review of this drive that showered praises on it and I saw that it had won some awards, so I figured this was a very safe bet.

Pros vast & speedy storage
Cons clunky backup software

I avoided using the backup software and had no trouble. I've had it for two months of heavy use. I've moved it while it's running, left it on for a week straight during multiple file compressions etc. and it has done all I've asked it to.
