user friendly, quality photos without the high price
The Nikon D40 is not a heavy, bulky and complicated SLR to use. As an amateur, I wanted something that will introduce me to the world of photography without the complications, but with the great SLR features.
It takes great photos (6.1 Megapixel) with its preprogrammed settings and allows...

Nikon D40 (Kit)
Last year I bought my first SLR camera, I had wanted one for a long time. I really like this camera, the pictures come out beautiful. The battery life is fantastic.
What I use this camera for is paranormal investigating. This camera does filter out alot of the dust that usually shows up on...

Nikon's low-end too low
Before anyone has a cow and ships it to me with a case of stale buns....YES, I have handled the D40. It was at a trade show and I got to play with the camera for a bit. I even got to shoot a few shots and slap a better lens on it.
Now let's get right to it: I DON'T LIKE THIS CAMERA BUT It's...

Great Camera!
Just purchased the Nikon D40. I had a Pentax SLR for a long time and just got tired of lugging all the lenses with me and it just got to be more of a hassle than fun. Now, with 2 kids I did not have the time or space to take it with me. We used a Kodak point and shoot for 4 years.
I really...

Great DSLR for everyone!
The prices here are really overpriced, but this is a great camra. Easy to use whereve you are. The body only option is great when you like to shoot with a fixed lens like I do, or if you are buying this as a back up camera and already own lenses that will work with it. Read full review »

Great DSLR Starter
I have had this camera for a little over a month and it is a great camera. I have not regretted buying it once. Auto mode is just as easy to use as any P&S. Manual Mode gives full creative control. The quality of my first photo to my latest have been... great. I LOVE this camera! Read full review »
