Great card when used as follows
Pros
Doubled the speed of earlier Netgear g/b cards
Cons
Protrudes from side of notebook (as do most add-on wireless cards).
Recommended it?
Yes
The "need for speed" has me constantly testing & comparing PCMCIA wireless cards at home, local hotspots and hotels.
At home I decided long ago that the Netgear WGT624 is the best wireless router and mated it with a Netgear 511T which produced 108MBPS within 10 feet of router and 54MBPS on lower floors our outside my home. Thus, I was curious to see if the WPN511 would really deliver better speed and range.
Happy to report that the WPN511 doubled my speed at distances where the older card had only 54MBPS. This leads me to believe that it will also deliver greater range as advertised but time will tell and i may add more info to this review in the future.
Unlike another reviewer, I had zero problems installing the driver software on my notebook which runs Win Xp SP2 Home Edition.
