Worst TV and customer support I've ever had!

Pros There are none! There is absolutely nothing about this purchase that went right!
Cons ShopNBC.com and Mitsubishi have absolutely no concern for you as a consumer! Buyer BEWARE!
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  ShopNBC.com and Mitsubishi will not offer a replacement, even though this TV is 1 month old! It now requires extensive repair work!
January 5th 2008, I purchased a Big screen TV from ShopNBC.com.
On February 24th, 2008 the TV stopped turning on.
I have spent countless hours on the phone with ShopNBC.COM and Mitsubishi Electric
After experiencing both ShopNBC.com and Mitsubishi Electric "Consumer Relations" for the first time, I have become personally aware of their non supportive approach to their products - Specifically, The 65" WD-65734 DLP TV. I have had this TV for 1 month. The only support that I have received from Mitsubishi Electric is a lamp replacement! Twice, with no results. Mitsubishi has refused to offer any support other than the extensive "band aid" repair work and obvious downtime that is now needed to get this TV back to working, condition. I have now spoke with 4 individuals at Mitsubishi "Consumer Relations" all were as compassionate to my concerns as brick walls! Their names, should you ever have the same misfortune are, Janet, Mervin (A woman), Cory and Daniel.
ShopNBC.com is no better. I've been promised a phone call back from 3 supervisors, Adam, Rebecca and Vaugn! Still waiting, it's been 3 weeks now! This TV has blown a "light engine" according to the Mitsubishi authorized 3rd party repair person, that I had to call, to come and diagnose. His recommendation, "If this were mine I'd get this whole TV replaced, it's only a month old"
The Mitsubishi "authorized repairman" explained that the repair was significant and would require 1 to 3 weeks in his shop. He explained that the repair would require a great deal of labor to remove and replace the "light engine". Being in the computer repair business, I asked him how they plan to repair it. His response.... We basically call Mitsubishi and they "walk us through" how to replace the defective component.
I asked him if there was any other diagnostic procedure to determine what the source of the failure is. His answer was "No".
As a former technician and now owner of a small repair company in San Diego, I am acutely aware
that components fail, however, components can also fail due to another components failure, rendering the repair temporary.
I will not accept the Mitsubishi recommended repair, nor will I ever recommend ShopNBC.com ever. Buyers beware!
