Great item if you have moderate requirements in a portable memory drive
Looking for a basic all around USB memory drive? This one is CHEAP, efficient, and reliable. Most people do not need mega flash drives so why pay more for the extra memory?
The 256MB memory drive on the Memorex Travel Drive 256MB can hold hundreds of high resolution photo files or thousands of text files.
Store software programs on it(under 256MB) to use on different computers! The drive comes with pre-installed software to assist in organizing and storing program files.
Note that this flash drive is designed ONLY for Windows systems XP, ME, 2000 or newer. It will work with Windows 98SE if you download a driver over the internet to enable this flash drive(free download).
Windows 98 and older? Not supported.
Apple systems MAC OS 8.6 or higher accept the drive with no need for additional driver or download. Simply plug and play.
This is a very nice system to run programs on multiple computers..especially when travelling. Keep all your notes, files and programs in an easy to access keychain flash drive.
Now, if you run programs that require a lot of memory...you'll need a more powerful flash drive(2GB or higher). Check the memory requirements of any programs you might want to store on the drive and see if there is room.
Currently this flash drive can be found for as little as $5, so it's a real bargain ...if it fits your needs.
