Mighty Z-10 Speakers

byericrk Mar 25, 2009
Pros Excellent quality, still sounds fantastic!  What can I say?
Cons SOmetimes the software needs to be reloaded by CD format only.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Incredibly great quality, and after 5 years, I've gone through computers, yet  these speakers run strong!
I got these speakers almost 5 years ago, and wrote a review on them, although, somehow ended up in the "star wars demotin for dreamcast" game...??? I don't know how that happened. But, anyway, here's the review I gave back in 2007:

I bought these speakers to add to my brand new computer system. Honestly, I didn't know squat about them, but was impressed with the reputation that Logitech has, and that I got the speakers for 1/2 off regular price at CompUSA: for $75.
They are very heavy for computer speakers: About 5 pounds each. Which tells me that the speakers have one heck of some awesome magnets in there for fantastic sound.
I will tell you the features I really do like:
1. The Display: It displays the Time, Date, Day, Hour and Minutes.
2. Also it lets you know when you have email coming. It hooks up a USB connection to your computer, and reads the main email system.
3. It reads what artist is playing on your CD, MP3, or digital file on your computer. Or, will tell you what radio station your listening to.
4. It has CPU and RAM recognition: how much your computer is utilizing at that moment.
5. OR, you can have one of those options, such as the time, showing all the time, and not the other options.
6. Separate Bass and Treble controls, all by finger touch.
7. Volume may be controlled on the speaker. Or, by your computer.
All in all, these are really power house speakers! Granted, it's only 2 speakers, but they sound really awesome! It's kind of like having a mini-home stereo for your computer. I highly recommend them to anyone who are looking for quality speakers.

REVIEW FOR 2009:

Still running great, sounds great...Although there have been minor problems with them.  The Volume control wants to "run on it's own" and will sometimes have to manually adjust the volume.  I've had to re-load the CD rom through the computer...But, other than that, it's been a fantastic speaker system... My Kids and I sometimes watch movies through the computer, and they do make nice "theatre" like sounds for it.  Deep and rich tones.

Updated Review for 2012:

Well, it looks like another 3 years have passed by, several computers went on the "fritz" one way or another, and they're running strong, which tells you that this is a true winner for Logitech.  It's a shame that they don't make them anymore, and when I bought them in 2007, it was a gamble, but it worked out just fine!  Logitech should consider bringing them back!
