Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000

I recently began to work on my eBay auction page and found that I am going to need a digital camera whether I like it or not. I put one on lay-away sometime back and am still paying for it. In the mean time I needed something and that is where the Logitech... Read full review »

Marvin the Martian: Logitech's QuickCam 3000 Pro

byunheimlich May 29, 2002

Pros A snap to set up; high quality software bundle; good imaging device!
Cons Software is a bit boggy on system resources if you don't have a newer model.
Recommended it? Yes

The first thing I noticed about the Logitech 3000 is the black "visor helmet" on its orb (not pictured above), which slides up and down in front of the lens like a privacy screen. It's really a lenscap. But it makes the device look something like "Marvin the Martian" from Warner Bros' classic... Read full review »

Pros Sleek style, easy to use, USB, and decent image.
Cons Hard to control webcam angle (weak neck syndrome).
Recommended it? Yes

Remember the last time you meet up with relatives or friends that haven't seen you for a couple of years? What is the first thing they say?

"Hey! You've put on some weights!"

Well, no I have not, it's just that you haven't seen me for so long (what's wrong with putting on weight... Read full review »

Pros Quality picture, good color, adjustable lens, built-in sound
Cons Base is a bit weak and flimsy

After realizing that flights were just too expensive on a regular basis, I looked for an alternative that was better than the phone and had more of a "personal" touch.

5 years ago I discovered the Internet Phone, but found it was not really ready to use on a consistent basis. Perhaps... Read full review »

Cons Cord is long, software bundle cheesy, mic is sub standard

The Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000 is one of the best webcams for the price available. If you're into basic webcam conferencing with friends and family this is the camera for you. I have the USB version which is much better then serial port webcams. Its picture quality isn't of 8mm quality but for what... Read full review »

I first picked up my LogiTech QuickCam Pro 3000 mainly because I wanted to try a webcam out. I thought $99 TAX wasnt that bad so I picked one up. But enough of that let's get straight to the details.

Mine came with 2 types of stands. One was mad for putting on a laptop... Read full review »

Great camera on weak legs

bykaipradel Jun 19, 2003

Pros Great quality and image saturation
Cons No video driver supplied by Logitech for OS X
Recommended it? Yes

This will be a quick review. There simply isn't much to say about webcams other than a comment or two about handling, image quality and driver support.

Handling
The first point is - unfortunately - one of the weak points about the camera. It is mounted in an odd joystick type molding... Read full review »

Pros High quality picture, also works as digital still and video camera
Cons Annoying cable, price
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this little camera about 9 months ago so that I would have a webcam when chatting on Yahoo! Messenger. There are several companies out there that make webcams, and the price ranges from under $30 to over $100. In my research and with my own experience, I believe you get what you pay for... I recently picked up a Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000. I have had to other Logitech cameras previously. One was the old regular Quickcam which worked decent until it fell off the computer one to many times ... bad design I think it was. The other was a Clicksmart 310 which I don't think I would... Pros Easy Set up, Works well in most lighting situations
Cons Pricey
Recommended it? Yes

I decided to join the "camming" masses about three months ago and selected the QuickCam Pro after looking at several options. I have to say it was a good choice. It was a joy to set up - the manual walked you through the set and I had no glitches setting it up with my Dell Dimension running Windows... Read full review »
