I'm no stranger to the webcam, having been through a few in the last 5 years. Since there are always new products coming out and quality is constantly improving, I wanted a webcam that was affordable, had good quality, and had a microphone. I shopped around for a bit, browsing through all the new mini webcams and comparing features. Logitech webcams have always worked very well for me so I instantly knew what brand to look for.
I had seen the Quickcam Pro 5000 in other stores, selling anywhere from $59.99-$89.99. On a last minute stop, I saw this on sale at London Drugs for $39.99. It had 30 frames per sec, and 640 X 480 pixels, came with a built in microphone and was compatible with online messengers. I was instantly sold, having had a camera with similar specifications that I was pleased with.
I love the fact that you can move around the cam in a wide range of motion and the flexible base makes it easy to place on anything. The focus knob comes in handy when being viewed at various distances. The audio/video sync is great even with the slight delay of being sent across the world.
