Logitech Illuminated Keyboard; It's Stealth Too!

Pros Back-lighted keys
very quiet
sleek with very low profile
Cons front palm rest a bit too short at just under two inches.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line: I'm liking this illuminated Keyboard with ultra-thin profile and extremely quiet keys with a good feel. Though a basic keyboard it exudes a contemporary feel and offers ergonomic comfort.
This is the coolest of all keyboards out there. It has many features that make it "out of this world" for me. It's quiet, sleek and yet it's bright and easy to use.

Out Of the Box

I picked this up at Staples for $59. Keyboards are pretty basic in set up. The Logitech Illuminated, that works with Windows XP, Vista, or "7" isn't much different. It gets plugged into a USB port of the computer and it's ready for business. A CD came with the unit but I never popped it in. I used the Quick-start guide to get acquainted with the keyboard. Information was sparse but that wasn't a negative. The text gave me what I needed including large images of the board and easy-to-follow diagrams showing function and how to use the F-Keys to get to default web browsers, email, search engines, control music and more.

Cool Features!

The Logitech (920-000914) keyboard has keys that are back-lighted. Each key has a light inside making the board easy to see even in pitch black. I happen to be a two finger typist so visuals are extremely important to me especially when writing in the dead of night. On the top right corner of the keyboard is a button that adjusts the lighting in four stages. The brightest first and then going down a bit until the lights are off. With the lights off the letters and numbers are still readable. Th packaging notes that these are "laser-etched, back-lighted keys.

This keyboard has an extremely low sleek profile "ultra-thin" with a "Perfect Stroke key system." The board has a front lip of perhaps 1/8" and the full profile builds to about 1/4" at its thickest unless the back legs are elevated. The keyboard has a stealth look being all black, sleek, and with low profile. It's almost like its flat on the desk. I find that very comfortable when writing extended periods.

Stealth is taken another notch as the keys on this Logitech Illuminated Keyboard are extremely quiet to the touch something important to my wife who watches TV in the same room where I write.

A front palm rest makes for a comfortable feel and the back legs offer an ergonomic appeal though it's a little short for complete comfort for my large hands.

I really do like the look, feel and response of this keyboard. Each stroke feels solid and I rarely have a miss. It's also much more comfortable than any other keyboard to work. I do wish the front palm rest was a bit larger but is still feels better than the "old" for me.

I did notice that the Caps lock light that is usually on the top right of every keyboard I have ever used is now on the bottom right. Now that I know I have gotten used to it. I'm loving this keyboard!
