Top of the line wired gaming mouse!

Pros Glide, Weights, Design, ability to customize, laser
Cons scroll wheel is a little tight.... ;-)
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would say that this mouse is a winner, nothing can beat it!
The G5 made by Logitech is truly the mouse you will want no matter what! This mouse is pretty new on the market and it is top of the line.Since I personally am a gamer myself I always look for whats best out there, in my opinion this beats them all, there is nothing better than this for all of you devoted gamer and computer users, even people who are constantly on the computer but do not game, this mouse is confortable to the touche and slides with no problem. If this all interests you, read on.
Gamers Mouse or not
This certainly is a gamers mouse it contains all the necessary features to put it into this category, I game about 10-20 hours a week and I love this mouse I wouldnt trade it for anything else, Despite the fact that the G7 is out there and its wireless. I still have problems purchasing wireless products from the problems I have witnessed with them. And I am not saying shy away from the G7 if you prefer wireless but I myself have no problems with a corded mouse as a gamer.
Laser Quality and Build Quality
All of my Logitech mouses and keyboards are well worth the money, they all have exceptional build quality, my older retired MX500 has still not died, you can even see the paint wearing off at the finger spots yet the thing still blazes through everything! Also on logitech mouses the have a build structure that has a place for your thumb along the side of it and a place for your pinky and 4th finger to go on the opposite side. The top plate of this mouse is a single plate where the hand rest flows up and into the middle and pointer finger spots. This makes your mouse look cool as well and keeping the finger clickers free from collecting dust under them. It also has a cool paintjob that starts with silver and goes to red and then back to silver as it progresses up the mouse. Now that you can picture yourself holding this thing, I will tell you about the laser this carries. The laser in the bottem of this mouse is new and improved, instead of blasting a read beam down onto your table or mouse pad... this has no lights just a reading laser to find movement! Also this mouse carries up to a 2000 DPI depending on your settings, DPI means your sensitivity of the mouse, once you install the software provided with your mouse you will be able to set up your DPI setting as well as change it on your mouse with the click of a finger. In the space in between your fingers atop the mouse are 2 important keys for gamers, its a plus and minus sign, when you click the plus sign your DPI will increase, and when you click minus it will lower your DPI. You may be thinking "how do I know how high my DPI is now???" Well lucky for you Logitech included on top of this mouse a little section that lights up a certain space depending on your DPI, there are 3 seperate lights that will light up. Low Medium or High DPI so when you click the plus sign you will move up one notch, if you click minus you will move down one notch. Now tell me that isnt a cool feature... But what buttons other than the DPI buttons are on this mouse??
Buttons
Well this mouse has slightly changed from other mouses on the market (older ones) many older models of Logitechs had a forward and backward button for controlling internet explorer, well sorry folks but this one only has a back button. Also there is the main Left and Right click as well and the scroll wheel and click. With the software you are able to change any one of these buttons settings, for me since I play games I change the (back) button to be maybe reload or throw a grenade... but its all up to you, you get to customize your own mouse! The only complaint about buttons on this mouse is the scroll wheel, for me it is just a little to difficult to scroll it up or down... now its not actually HARD but it takes more effort than preferred. Over all the buttons on this mouse are nothing special to a regular logitech mouse but to other mouses it has many advantages!
Side grip and smoothness of slide
The sides of this mouse where your non used fingers reside is made a little more rough than the old mouses. It has more grit to it giving it a little more grip and better control when I use it. And also with this the old grips would soak in sweat and end up creating a greasy outer mouse, with this gritty texture I dont know why but it sure does repel grease. Today after hours of gaming it still feels new and out of the package! But does this mouse glide smoothely or not?? Yes this mouse sure does glide without a problem, the bottem has 2 larger pads and one small one on the side for optimal slide along surfaces. It is the best I have seen in my life of all the mouses I have owned! Many people mention the name of the pads but personally most people are not going to need to know that. And whats this I hear about weights inside the mouse?!?
G5 Weight system
This mighty mouse comes with its own weights! This is generally only a thing gamers would care about because most people dont really mind a little more float than they want or a heavier mouse. Ok well, this mouse comes with a small tin of 16 weights in sizes of 1.7 grams and 4.5 grams, with a top customizable weight of 36 grams. There will be a small orange tray with 8 spots for individiual weights. You put in the arrangement you want and you simply pop it into the underside of the mouse and you are ready to go. For gamers weight can mean losing or winning and with this simple yet effective way of changing the weight of your mouse you can always win! This is the one single flaw for me besides wireless that made me choose G5 over G7, the G7 because of it needing a place for rechargable batteries, Logitech could not incorperate a weight system into it.
New Cord!
Well this is more interesting than needed info to buy the mouse but, this mouse's cord is not a regular plasic coated wire system but this cord almost incorperates mesh coating to the outside of the wires. For me this decreases overall weight of the cord and makes the mouse just a little cooler.
Overall Epinion
I think this mouse is amazing, it houses a top of the line laser, build quality, and textures/slide. This mouse is a must for me its almost as if once you have had this mouse you just cant go back, its here to stay. I hope this helped everyone reading it! Have a fantastic time with your new Logitech G5!!!
