I installed this card into a older AMD XP 2800 running Windows XP Service Pack 2. It seemed a bit quirky initially but was up and running within 30 minutes without issue. I do recommend seeking out and updating the driver. You need to get the Version Number off of the actual card, prior to installing it into your pc. This computer is positioned only about 25 foot from the wireless router but transmits through two walls and has excellent reception doing so. There was no noticeable speed difference using this wireless adapter compared to a direct cable connection. I would highly recommend this card to any home user seeking an inexpensive wireless desktop adapter. For security and speed I also recommend allowing only MAC Addresses from your computers as opposed to using the encryption software.
