Perfect Printer for the computer haters!

Pros Totally portable and computer free
Cons Light too bright. Limited to 4x6 photos only.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great value for the price
This is a "stand alone" printer for digital camera media (picture cards) For example; SD,CF,MMC,and other media cards that allows people who either don't know how to use a computer to get a photo from their digital camera or don't want to use a computer. It allows the user to take out the photo card that is inside their camera, plug it in to the appropriate slot, watch a slide show of your photos and pick the ones you want to print. OR, you can create an "index sheet" which will show small photos printed on one page at a time (approximately 20 or so.)
I prefer to just pick the ones I want and print those, but, if you need to "burn" these photos to a CD it is nice to have an index card to put with them that allows you to know what is on that CD.
The 2 1/2 inch screen, that is movable, allows you to crop, zoom, change brightness and do other things to your photos. You can then print up a very high quality 4x6", printed to the edge, photograph.
Another way to get your photos into the printer is to use what is called "Pictbridge" which simply means you plug the camera into the printer with a special cable. I prefer not to do this, it's a personal choice.
The unit takes only one cartridge, which is nice so you don't have to always refill or buy two of them, the color and the black.
My unit came with 3 packages of 20 pages each, photo paper, which gave me 60 photo papers right off the bat!
This unit is so easy to use and it even has a handle that allows you to pick it up and carry it around. It still needs to be plugged into an outlet, but being able to move it to another room or take it on vacation is a plus.
The only thing that I don't really like is that, for some reason, Lexmark made the "power" button light up so brightly that you can hardly see the other buttons. I don't have any idea why that was necessary.
All in all, this is a great printer for several reasons. No need for the computer, portability, quality photos and incredible price. I have looked in the newspaper and see portable printers for over $200 or more. NONE were in the price range of under $100.00.
