LG RC797T DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

I bought this DVD recorder and VCR Combo with the intention of someday transferring my old tapes to DVDs. I was not in any hurry to do that so i did not connect it right away... waited long enough to run out of warranty period or and return. once i connected i was able to play DVD without any problem. on and off i may have used it for total of ten DVD without any problem.

During Christmas Holidays hoping to watch some movies and utilize my days off to start converting my Cassatte to DVD media. when first run i get message about "no Disk" on screen than tried about fifteen different DVD and getting same message so i give up that day. two days later try again and it worked for about fifteen minutes or so and stop with same messege. i had no clue what was going on. finally few weeks ago i called LG and tech advice me to buy DVD lense cleaner Disk and it should resolve the problem. i try that with no success called again talk to another tech but i did not get any where with him. practically i got unit that DVD does not work for now VCR is working but i am not sure how long before that even quit working. 

I strongly advice to stay away from this unit.
