The Bottom Line:
After researching the market for a Blu-Ray player that wirelessly streames movies, I believe this is probably the best player at the current time.
I have had this LG player for about 2.5 months hooked up to a new Samsung 63" plasma and a Yamaha 5.1 surround system. The picture is very sharp with both HD and regular DVDs.
Besides being a good functioning player this LG player connects wirelessly to the internet without any other hardware. Although I found the manual a little lacking in its instructions I was able to connect rather quickly to the internet and set up my Netflix queue and view movies they have set up for instant streaming. You cannot search the Netflix library with the LG player, they must be chosen and placed in your queue, through your computer, and then they automatically appear on the tv. The picture of these streamed movies is better than anticipated. A few of the movies streamed from Netflix are in HD and the picture rivals that of HD television. Besides Netflix, the LG can be used to show photos and play music. The LG also gives access to streaming movies (wirelessly) via CinemaNow and Vudu. You can also watch YouTube through this player.
Although you can connect the LG by way of ethernet cable, watching movies wirelessly works very well. I have high speed internet through Comcast and am presently using only a "G" router. An "N" router is recommended but I have watched online movies without any interruptions so far.
The buttons on the remote could have been placed a little better but it is all right. The fast forward speed is not very fast but the on screen menus are very good.
The player seems to load relatively fast. It gives a very good audio signal for your surround sound and makes dvd watching very enjoyable.
