Pros Great price with a nice sound!
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

The Logitech Z-640 is made in mind for the person wanting to add 5 speakers and a subwoofer to their computer for a 5.1 playback from a DVD for less than $80. This is a nice add-on speaker system to replace the one that came with your computer to give you a decent sound whether you are playing... Read full review »

Eargasms for the Budget Listener

Pros Very smooth, rich sound even at low volumes, solid construction, easy installation
Cons Center speaker is a bit tall in profile for my monitor
Recommended it? Yes

I am what you would consider a mild audiophile; whatever it is I'm listening to or on, I must be thoroughly impressed with its clarity, performance, and roundness of sound.

That's why when I went shopping for a set of 5.1 speakers for my computer, I wanted a true digital system like the... Read full review »

Pros Excellent Sound Clarity & Volume, Looks, Connectors, Construction, Wall Mounts, Controls,...
Cons Bulky cables, mids a bit lacking, Cant Disable the LPF.

Having had 4 channels or more over the last 4 years, and never - and I mean it - never hooking up the rear channel, i now had 2 machines with 6 channel, so I decided I finally need add to my standard 2 speaker setup. Geez, what a chore:
First, let me advise what I have had, my ciriculum vitae,... Read full review »

Logitech Z-640: Best Bang for the Buck

Pros PRICE, Great sound, Wall-mountable, easy hookup
Cons None noted
Recommended it? Yes

After buying the Altec Lansing 2100 speaker set and noting my disappointment with it, I needed a better set of speakers to use with my computer. However, I really didn't feel like dropping another $100 for another pair of speakers. But when I picked up a PlayStation 2 and enjoyed it, I felt that I... Read full review »

Very Nice printer. Excellent quality. Ok speed. Buy media online and price/print is good

Pros Picture quality is great. Waterproof prints.
Cons Can't crop in when print right from Canon Cameras.
Recommended it? Yes

Summary: Really like the picture quality. Have recommended it to friends.

- I bought this because my 3 year old HP printer (and 8.5 X 11) wasn't doing it for me on 4x6 prints. Quality was ok, but not great on some prints (could see the tiny ink drops if look close enough) and I got tired... Read full review »

Wonderful 5.1 Sound - Excellent Value

byrkruss May 3, 2003
8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Inexpensive, wonderful balanced sound, easy installation.
Cons No remote, virtually no instructions.
Recommended it? Yes

I had a Yamaha 5.1 speaker system with all the flashy Dolby Digital and DTS decoding built in connected to my Hercules GameTheatre XP sound card, but was generally disappointed because I could only get true 5.1 surround sound through DVD playback. So I was off to replace my speakers with something... Read full review »

Logitech z640: Worth the money?

byzzclickman May 19, 2003

Pros Inexpensive, Quality:Price Ratio
Cons Mechanical Quality/Support, Device Compatibility, Lack of mounting, Low-Quality Subwoofer
Recommended it? No

I've been living with my set of Logitech z640's for about six months now. They were bought for $100USD at CompUSA, although suggested prices now seem to be lower. However, don't be so quick to jump to get them by their price.

I'll start out with the pros: It's cheap for what you get. You... Read full review »

Pros Excellent quality printing. Easy setup. Good price for quality for a 4x6 photo printer.
Cons Cost per print higher than online services. Hard to tell when cartridge will run out.
Recommended it? Yes

I picked up this little printer, looking for the best "bang for the buck" I could get, comparing prices online and at the local stores. I do not have the EasyShare camera, so I didn't need the one that can dock it. Previously my inkjet printer just wasn't giving me the quality I wanted and... Read full review »

A Great Set of Speakers at a Fantastic Price

byrobert26 Oct 14, 2004

Pros Excellent price, Nearly perfect sound reproduction, Extra long speaker cable
Cons LED is annoyingly bright, Lack of bass, treble, or tone control, Poor documentation
Recommended it? Yes

For those with an unlimited income, the sky's the limit. For the rest of us, there is the Logitech Z-640. I've been wanting a surround sound set for a while, but couldn't find any decent ones in my price range. That is, until I came across these babies. Not only were they sub-$100, but they were... Pros Good bass sound Very solid built speakers very tough Small design fits into places
Cons Sound horrible Mediums awful Center wires short Controls at the back
Recommended it? No

Sound is horrible, my $30 superstore speakers are better, mediums awful, Center wires too short, woofer controls at the back.

You should buy these only when you are strapped for cash.
I made a mistake while reading in some reviews that quote:
"You will not notice the mediums... Read full review »
