Before I Upgraded!

Pros Zoom, Picture quality, Video
Cons A little too bulky, BATTERY LIFE!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Better get more out of the batteries then I do Otherwise a great performance, Good if you want a Digital camera that can get the job done
This review of KODAK's CX7330 digital camera will definitely have it's ups and downs for this product. Click for the full bumpy ride details.

Portability… 5.0/10
It could definitely have used a more compact or smoother shape to it. While it will easily fit into a half full purse that's about it. Don't even try to put this camera into a nice sized pocket on cargo pants, because it wont fit comfortably. When all was said and done Kodak should have defiantly cut some of the bulk of on this baby.

Picture Quality… 8/10
The picture quality is very sharp. You can tell it's aging with it's 3.3 Mega pixel, but usually gets the job done with excellence. It also has a nice program you can use to touch up the photos such as edit the sharpness, and rid the picture of those pesky red eyes. Save all of the pictures you want on a disk and have a photo lab print them off with spectacular results, or buy a high quality printer and paper and do it yourself. Point is it won't matter the method. The result will be the same a terrific looking picture captured in time that you would never get to take again. However, while taking the pictures… every so often you will get some blurry pictures… depending on the picture moment whether it is acceptable or not. I never had too much problem with this. Just something you should be aware of. But, yes they do mostly turn out crystal clear rest assured.

Battery life… 2.5/10
It seems to me that the battery life is almost constantly draining even when the camera is turned off. I cannot count the times I turn on the camera after a short period of use only to find the frustration of seeing the low battery life blinking almost instigating me to throw the digital came against the wall. However, due to the price I paid for the camera, and the quality of the pictures I dare not give in and I put 2 new double A batteries. I am almost beginning to think KODAK made a deal with a battery company with the way this monster gulps them down. You even get less battery life when you have the picture view indicator turned on. This should have been reworked before release with all due respect to KODAK. This almost destroys the camera.

Features and Zoom… 9.5/10
This is where the KODAK CX7330 does pull out some polish and lets the camera shine for a bit. This camera allows you to chose how many stars (quality of the picture) it goes from 1 star which is the least amount of detail, but don't let that fool you. If this camera has one strength to it, it is how the actual image turns out. All the way up to 3 stars which is obviously the most detail. 1 star pictures also obviously take up less space on the memory than a 3 star picture does. This camera also allows you to capture video. While without a memory card you can capture about 1 minuet of video, but it is a memory hog, so don't expect to take too many pictures while the video is still on the camera and not your computer. *note, unless you have a memory card for the camera, obviously the more memory the better. The video is actually very good quality and has crystal clear clarity. The digital zoom really allows a breath taking picture from far away. It is ideal to use at sporting events school pageants (concerts and plays). My one problem I have is when using the viewing screen to take the picture there is no real clear brightness option, to get a better idea of what your taking pictures of in darker areas.

Mechanics… 10/10
This camera is very easy for beginners to pick up and use. This was my first real digital camera and I had absolutely no problems getting the hang of this camera and its options. After about 15 min. of reading the book and another 20 min. playing around with it you pretty much know this camera inside out. Everything is clearly labeled and simply press the button to run the function. Even people scared of the digital technology should not be discouraged to jump into the new century and pick this up. KODAK makes this camera very easy to use even for the non-techies.

computer hook-up… 10/10
Once you take your pictures , or videos it is extremely easy to link the camera up to your computer to retrieve them and place them onto your computer. All you do is simply use a USB cable. Hook one end to the camera the other to the computer and presto just follow the on screen options.

overall
If you can simply get past the battery life and occasional blurry picture, this is an excellent buy. It's not perfect, but what is? Any digital camera you buy now much like a computer is going to be missing a lot of neat features found just a couple weeks down the road. Buy one you like and run with it, because if you always want nothing but the best, you'll be updating digital cameras monthly I guarantee it. While not perfect and missing some features, this KODAK CX7330 gets the job done for me.
